National Honor Society
NHS Membership Requirements
To be eligible for membership, students must be in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and have completed at least one semester at ISMO in good standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The faculty council will review all applicants.
Once a candidate is voted into the NHS, they must attend monthly meetings, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, uphold all school rules, and complete the minimum amount of service hours each semester.
Becoming a member of the ISMO NHS is based on four criteria: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
The four main goals of the NHS are to:
Create enthusiasm for scholarship
Develop character in the students of secondary schools
Simulate a desire to render service
Promote leadership
With an emphasis on service, NHS members must complete a minimum number of service hours each semester. Through the organization, students develop character and leadership skills while maintaining high standards in scholarship.
